The War to End All Wars: The First World War and its Lasting Legacy

Past Exhibit
November 5 - December 21, 2018

In the wake of the destruction wrought during World War I, many thought that such a ruinous conflict would be impossible in the future. This exhibit documented wartime experiences through multiple lenses, from highly individual memoirs to impersonal analyses of tactics. The Noel Collection’s books on the topic were complemented by artifacts provided by the R.W. Norton Art Gallery.
