FacilitiesThe Noel Collection is located on the third floor of Noel Memorial Library on the LSU-Shreveport campus. The collection boasts a reading room with comfortable seating and excellent light along with its exhibit room, vault, and stacks. Display cases used in exhibits are located in the reading room, the exhibit room, and the atrium just outside the reading room.

Staff
Dr. Alexander Mikaberidze holds the Ruth Herring Noel Endowed Chair for the Curatorship of the James Smith Noel Collection. He is also Professor of History at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where he has been a faculty member since 2007. Dr. Mikaberidze has published over twenty books and his research focuses primarily on the Revolutionary and Napoleonic era as well as early modern Western travelers in the Middle East.
Dr. Robert C. Leitz, III was Curator Emeritus of the James Smith Noel Collection and Professor Emeritus of English at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He served as the Noel Collection’s first curator from 1994 to 2018 and joined the LSUS faculty in 1973.
Martha Lawler is the Director of the James Smith Noel Collection and Associate Librarian at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She has worked at the Noel Collection since 1996 and previously worked as a graduate assistant with the English Short Title Catalogue. Lawler has been actively involved in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries since 1998.
The Catalogers for the Noel Collection, in addition to cataloging collection materials, assist in managing the collection's social media (Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram) and serves as the webmaster of this site. They also work with the Director on the collection's new exhibits.
