Scholarships

Ruth Herring Noel had a heart for education and wanted to help students succeed throughout their college career. In her honor, the Noel Foundation offers the Ruth Herring Noel Endowed Scholarship for Top Scholars. Through this prestigious scholarship, the Noel Foundation sponsors an incoming freshman to study full-time at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) for four years.

In addition to the Ruth Herring Noel Endowed Scholarship, the Noel Foundation also offers other beneficial scholarships for all types of students attending LSUS. The Noel Foundation awards multiple winners for each scholarship offered. The scholarships are listed below and all scholarships offered at LSUS can also be found through this scholarship page.




Ruth Herring Noel Endowed Scholarship for Top Scholars

  • Must be a first-time, full-time freshman, and 
  • will be attending LSUS as a full-time student (12 or more college hours), and 
  • have earned a high school cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, or 
  • have a composite ACT score of at least 26

Continuing Student Scholarships

  • Must have attended LSUS the past two previous semesters.
  • Must have an undergraduate GPA of at least a 3.00.
  • Must be enrolling as a full-time student each fall and spring semester (12 or more hours).
  • Must have earned at least 60 hours, but not more than 120.
  • Not be receiving an LSUS first-time freshman scholarship or a Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) Scholarship. 

Transfer Student Scholarships

  • Must have graduated or will be graduating from BPCC or SUSLA before attending LSUS
  • Possess a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.50
  • Have not attempted more than 90 college hours
  • Will be attending LSUS as a full-time student (12 or more college hours)
  • Have majored in a program or course of study that leads to a Bachelor's Degree at LSUS

Graduate Student Scholarships

  • First-time graduate students must possess a 3.00 undergraduate GPA.
  • Continuing graduate students must possess a 3.25 graduate GPA.
  • Will be attending LSUS as a graduate student enrolled as follows:
           9 or more hours-traditional program master students (including MHA).
           3 or more hours-accelerated on-line master students.
           6 or more hours-doctoral students.
  • Must be seeking your first master or doctoral degree.
